Cemetery Visiting Hours for High Holy Days

WEST HARTFORD, CONN. (August 31, 2018) – High Holy Day visiting hours for cemeteries managed by the Association of Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Hartford, part of Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, will be held on Sunday, September 16, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. A complete list of Federation cemeteries is available here.

Extra police patrolling by the Hartford and West Hartford Police Departments has been requested for visiting hours. Patrols will be more frequent than usual, but it is always a good idea to visit in groups as police will not be stationed in any one area.

Thirty Jewish cemeteries whose original organizations disbanded are now cared for by the Association, which mows lawns, removes snow, clears litter and resets tombstones. The Association also provides burials and assistance for visiting family members. These services are made possible through contributions to Federation's Annual Campaign.

If you have any questions before visiting a Federation cemetery, please call Lisa Vaeth at 860-727-6143. To inquire about a cemetery that is not on the list linked above, please reach out to the cemetery directly for information on their visiting hours.
