GIVING SOCIETY OVERVIEW

We are grateful to the nearly 3,000 individuals and families who support our community through Federation's Annual Campaign year after year. In conjunction with our national umbrella organization, Jewish Federations of North America, we are pleased to support the following giving societies.

Wallenberg Society    $100,000+
Also known nationally as the Prime Ministers Council, the Wallenberg Society convenes Federation’s leading donors who contribute $100,000 or more to Federation’s Annual Campaign or have made an endowment commitment to the Federation of $2 million.

King David Society    $25,000+
The King David Society is a network of community leaders who contribute $25,000 or more to the Federation’s Annual Campaign. They share a passionate concern for issues that affect the worldwide Jewish community, and set inspiring standards in philanthropic giving.

Joshua Society    $10,000+
The Joshua Society is a community of philanthropists who come together to make an impact in the Jewish community. It includes individuals and families who contribute $10,000 or more to their Federation’s Annual Campaign, demonstrating the loyalty, charisma and skillful leadership of this group’s namesake.

Lion of Judah (Women)    $5,000+
Lions of Judah are a group of dynamic, philanthropic women. They are strong women of all ages, an international sisterhood of thousands of global activists who care deeply about the Jewish future. These women contribute $5,000 or more to their Federation’s Annual Campaign.

Solomon Society (Men)    $5,000+
Established by the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, the Solomon Society offers a unique opportunity for men to demonstrate their deep commitment to our local and global Jewish community.

Pomegranate Society (Women)    $1,800 - $4,999
The Pomegranate Society recognizes and connects independent women who are enhancing Jewish life worldwide by giving generously. The pomegranate is said to contain 613 seeds – one for each of the mitzvot, or commandments, found in the Torah.

Pearl Society® level of giving (Women)    $180 - $1,799
The Pearl Society® level of giving establishes a Jewish connection for women of all ages who want to give from the heart and feel a connection to Jewish life through events and philanthropy. It was started in Hartford and has now become a model for Federations across the country.

Ben Gurion Society    $1,000+
The Ben Gurion Society is a national network of young adults, ages 25 to 45, who make a contribution of $1,000 or more to their local Jewish Federation as a sign of their commitment to leadership in their community.

Star of David Society    $200,000/$500,000
The Star of David Society honors outstanding philanthropists who have endowed their gift by creating a Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment (PACE) or Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) contribution of $200,000 or other permanent endowment of $500,000 or more.

Federation Legacy Society
The Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford honors donors who have made a cash or bequest gift of any kind or amount, under the Aim Chai initiative or through any other program or vehicle.
